Halloween...

Okay... I admit. I've started my Halloween decorations early. I mean really really early! I've had my oldest, Alexis, tell me, "It's not even October yet...!" So here's my reasoning... I've got a young one who's 5 years old. Isn't that a good enough reason?!?!?!

Iokepas' 2010 Summertime Hot Spot...

Earlier this year Cliff bought 2 SUP. So this Summer we've made a whole lot of trips to the beach and one particular place was Twin Lakes. I totally love this spot. It's close to the water, great view and to the harbor where Cliff can easily walk his SUP and paddle away. Twin Lakes in SC is always good fun for us!

Finding My Joy...

So I'm taking this online workshop called, "Finding Your Joy" by Kelly at Willette Designs. Kelly's so awesome! This is the first week of class and I just got done viewing her video tutorials! This week assignment is specifically about me. The things that I love and who I am. That also includes my daily routine in life as well. So inspirational!

I can't believe Kamalei is starting Kindergarten Monday- July 26. She's extremely excited and can't wait. I on the other hand is extremely nervous and in tears that our little girl is moving on into another exciting chapter in hers and our (parents) lives.

So I'm taking this "Finding the Light" online photography workshop and I'm trying to figure out what would be a great location to shoot Alexis (ha ha...sounds funny!). I needed to find an open shade so Alexis and I went over to our neighborhoods' entrance. I took some pictures of Alexis and then went home to upload them onto my computer. This picture of Alexis I did not use for my assignment because it was the wrong type of shading. The sun was high almost above her but I was able to have her pose where the sun was somewhat behind her. I actually like this picture. I've had my 7D for over 6 months now and when I saw this I finally told myself that I love love love my camera...

Cowell's Beach

These girls had so much fun at this beach. We all had a wonderful day. We got here early and afterwards drove downtown and had lunch at our all time fave eatery, Kianti's. Another day in paradise...

Sweet Kamalei...

Oh how I long for the day when Kamalei can "Just keep still" for a moment! Today was a perfect moment to snap a couple of pictures of her (with bribery of course!). Wow... she actually kept still. Well... with my 7D's fast burst mode and quick settings prior to taking this picture enabled me to capture this moment. Now it's time to take her to her favorite place... Yogurt Pizazz. ;)

Exploring CS4... and LOVIN' it!

Ok... I'm supposed to be reading this book from Bryan Peterson called "Understanding Exposure" but today I decided to play and learn Adobe Photoshop CS4. I explored and practiced on skin retouching, sharpening image, vignetting, brightening eyes and playing with my watermark blog.

A Day at the Beach May 8, 2010

This day has been long awaited for. Most of the time when we get together for a beach trip we make plans ahead of time. It's not like we can just get up and go (We all have a family and priorities to think about!!) We decided to spend the day at Twin Lakes so the guys can play with the SUP boards while the girls can hang out and chill with the keikis. It was an AMAZING day! We got there around 10AM and there were no clouds at all! There was nothing but blue skies!
